Ensembles
Studio Orchestra
The ASU Studio Orchestra meets twice weekly and is comprised of a graduate-level string quartet, wind quintet and two pianos. This ensemble serves as a laboratory orchestra for the graduate conductors and performs a variety of repertoire arranged for this specialized group. The players are an integral part of the learning process and the environment is high-level, supportive and fast-paced. The group hosts numerous guest artists and also includes opera repertoire with Brian DeMaris. View the ASU Studio Orchestra performing, among other works, an arrangement of Rite of Spring written by ASU graduate composer Josh Oxford.
Membership in the ensemble is by audition along with a recommendation by private teachers and carries a scholarship.
